Happy Thanksgiving

This is sort of a re-post, but I thought y'all might like a yummy recipe for Thanksgiving.
Enjoy!

Recipe for "Vegetarian Tofurkey"

3-12 oz. pkgs. of tofu.
Add: 1/2 cup prepared imitation chicken stock
1 tsp. sesame seed oil
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. saffron
1 cup finely crushed Ritz crackers
2 tbsp. brown sugar.
Blend mixture thoroughly.
Wrap in cheese cloth & place in a colander.
Place a couple of cans of food or other weight on cheese cloth & leave to drain in the refrigerator for 48 hours.
Remove mixture from refrigerator & stuff in a freshly skinned & gutted vegetarian over a charcoal fire.
Cover.
When temperature reaches 185 degrees in the thickest part of the buttock (8 to 10 hours), remove from heat & let cool approx. 1 hour
Feeds: 5-8
Helpful hints: When slaughtering a vegetarian, sneak up on it. Adrenaline spoils the meat. For preparation refer to the earlier post "Morlocks Rule!"

What a great idea! Although I love tofu, I do eat turkey/chicken and fish... But that recipe sounds amazing! You can make tofu in sooooooo many ways---it's incredible.

Sounds like your tofurkey is going to taste delicious!

Enjoy your weekend Bert!

I have a vegetarian friend who might like that recipe! I'll send her your way.

I was a vegetarian for a while, but have returned to my unrepentant ways.

Remember to par-boil your vegetatian after dressing them out. It removes most of the gamey flavor.
